Q: What is the auction?
A: The Discovery Parent Social and Auction is an adults-only event for Discovery parents. It is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and a chance to catch up with friends and meet new ones. Parents of all grade levels, along with some teachers and staff, attend the event.
Q: Do I need a ticket?
A:Yes! Tickets are required for entry. Tickets can be purchased on this website starting January 8, 2024.
Q: Will dinner be served?
A: A variety of hors d'oeuvres will be provided. There will also be beer, wine, and mixed drinks, along with soft drinks. Food and drink are included in the ticket price.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Barbie and Ken costumes are welcome but not required. Casual, cocktail, or costume–the choice is yours!
Q: Can I attend just to socialize? Am I obligated to bid on an auction item?
A: We have a fantastic variety of items–including rental homes, Caps, Wizards, and Nats tickets, one-of-a-kind teacher experiences, a pool membership, and more–but there is no obligation to bid. We are excited to socialize with and get to know other Discovery parents and teachers.
Q: What is the price point of auction items?
A: There is something for everyone! Some of the auction items start as low as $10 for the opening bid. You are guaranteed to find something of interest!
