Q: What is the auction?

The Discovery Annual Auction and Parent Social is an adults-only event. So book your babysitters now and put on your dancing shoes! It is our biggest fundraiser and party of the year. In addition to a silent and live auction, it is a fantastic way to catch up with friends and meet new ones. Parents of all grade levels, along with some teachers and staff, attend this event.

Q: Do I need a ticket?

Yes, tickets are required for entry. Purchase online or at the door!

Q: What does my ticket include?

Your ticket includes full access to our silent and live auction, open bar, appetizers, photo booth, DJ and dancing! Those who stick around long enough will enjoy the late night order of pizza and taco bell!

Q: When should I arrive?

The party is from 7-11pm. Check-in will start promptly at 7pm, and we hope you'll arrive as close to 7pm as possible to maximize your fun! We highly encourage you to pre-register as an online bidder, saving you time during check-in. You can do this via the "Get Started" button on the bidding site, which will open up closer to the event (we'll send a reminder to all who've purchased tickets). However, we'll have check-in station to keep things moving quickly.

Q: How does the silent and live auction work?

The Silent Auction will open a couple days before the event and bidding will be conducted thorough an online system. A link will be made available to you and you can pre-register before the event and you will be able to preview silent auction items. You do not need to be present to bid on a silent auction item. Once the online bidding begins, the system will notify you if you've been "outbid" and if you choose to, you can resubmit a new bid. You will get a count down of when the bidding closes.

The Live Auction will begin around 9:40pm, when we will auction our most exciting packages and experiences! You must be present to participate in this activity. There will also be on-site Parent Parties to sign up for, that are always a big hit!

Q: What is the theme and dress code?

This year's theme is "Hollywood Night: Lights, Camera, Auction". Do you have a favorite Hollywood star, singer, favorite movie character? Maybe old Hollywood glam is more your vibe. Or dress with a group of friends and make it an epic experience. Choose any decade - so many options! Costumes are encouraged but not required, come as you are!

Q: Can I attend just to socialize? Am I obligated to bid on an auction item?

We have a fantastic variety of items–including rental homes, sporting event tickets, one-of-a-kind teacher experiences, a pool membership, ride with police officer to school and much much more–but there is no obligation to bid. We are excited to socialize with and get to know other Discovery parents and teachers. 

Q: What is the price point of auction items?

There is something for everyone! Some of the auction items start as low as $10 for the opening bid. You are guaranteed to find something of interest! 

Q:If I can not attend or don't want to buy anything at the auction, can I still donate?

Q:I'd like to attend the auction, but I can't afford the tickets.

We want this to be a fun community event for all Discovery parents. If you would like to attend the auction but cannot afford to purchase a ticket, let us know and we'll be sure you get a ticket. Simply send an email to: Dr. Erin Healy.

Q:Can I invite non-Discovery friends and family to attend the auction with me?

Our motto is the more the merrier! You are welcome to purchase tickets for as many guests as you'd like.
